Noah Baumbach's (THE SQUID AND THE WHALE) exploration of aging, ambition and success stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts as Josh and Cornelia, a childless New York married couple in their mid-forties. As their other friends all start having children, the couple gravitates toward a young hipster couple named Jamie (Adam Driver) and Darby (Amanda Seyfried). He's an aspiring documentary filmmaker, a vocation Josh already has. Soon the older couple begins enjoying the energy they feel haging out with the younger generation, but eventually Josh begins to suspect his new best friend might not be as straightforward and trustworthy as he thought. Baumbach's sparkling follow-up to his Festival 2012 hit FRANCES HA, WHILE WE'RE YOUNG is an openly funny social portrait of New York's creative class. No film has better captured the weird, upended logic of urban sophisticates: the older ones embrace their iPads and Netflix, the young ones crave vinyl records and vintage VHS tapes.

Best film of the last few seasons! Need more like this! Great commentary on the “always on” mentality of the current generation(s). Interesting use of McCartney songs to bridge all 3 generations. He’s had periods of “hipness” with all 3, yet has always had criticisms regarding his authenticity.

I love this film for so many reasons – mainly because I can relate to 40-something decisions. So today. This film is another good generation movie just as Reality Bites was back in the ‘90s. Great to see Ben Stiller in another generational movie that captures so much of what people are currently going through.

Good flick in thought-provoking comedy. It asks many questions for the audience to ponder: To be successful, what compromises need to be made? Do we all allow ourselves to be "conned" on some level, at some point in our lives? Can one learn more about oneself after being "conned"? Does it cause one to soul search and improve?

Everyone wants to pick on hipsters and this film manages to do so with a playful way but not without a granule of unpleasant truth. It was a good film to handle many topics: aging, generational gaps, the nature of truth and relationships. I do hate to see another situation portrayed where having a child makes everything better, or how one says they don't "want" kids, and then they "really do."

The issue wasn't so much if documentaries must be truthful to be ethical—the real issue is whether you can be dishonest with your friends and family and be a good person. Very funny, well acted, many great points and thought provoking.
